Exiled was nominated for a Golden Lion award at the 2006 Venice Film Festival. Although described by many as The Mission 2, it is not. While The Mission is a great film, Exiled is faster, stronger and in my opinion better.

Dragon Dynasty is the new US DVD label to release HK movies. The most interesting aspect is that the creative people who have been responsible for the DVD releases of HKL for many years are now the heads of Dragon Dynasty. Their first DVD release is this 2-disc edition of probably the best HK martial arts action film in years, which is Sha Po Lang, retitled as Kill Zone for the US market.

After Sha Po Lang, director Wilson Yip and actor/action director Donnie Yen re-united again to picturise the popular HK comic books Dragon Tiger Gate. Does the film top their previous collaboration?

Director Johnnie To is primarily known for his highly stylised actioners and challenging thrillers that he has been making for his Milkyway production company. The HK based DVD label Joy Sales honour one of To's earlier dramas starring Chow Yun-fat with a digitally remastered DVD release. Is it worth an upgrade?

Although the full site launch will be in autumn Dragon Dynasty has put up product information for their DVD release of Kill Zone (aka Sha Po Lang). The website features a promotional trailer for Kill Zone and a promo reel for the DD label.

Dragon Dynasty, the new US DVD label for Asian movies, will be releasing Wilson Yip's Sha Po Lang as what seems to be its definite DVD release, even though it has been renamed to Kill Zone.

The release date is September 12th 2006.
